Eric Fritz holds a bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A lifelong collector in Natural history, gems, minerals and shells and fossils, led to a second career in gemomology.  His science background fostered his specialty organic gemstones, primarily pearls.

He is Manager for North America for Gem-A and resides in Tucson, Arizona.
Pearls can be one of the most confusing subjects in gemmology ...natural, cultured, treated? We will look at the origins of natural pearls as ornaments and then brielfy look at cultured, treated and how to tell them all apart or can we?
