Speaker: Karen Fox
Topic: Namibia’s Diamond Coast
Deep beneath beneath the thickened ancient crust of southern Africa, diamonds were formed and then carried to the surface by explosive eruptions of kimberlite. Over time, these precious gems eroded from the host rock and were transported to the west coast of the continent where they were first discovered in 1908. Join us for a visit to historic and contemporary coastal alluvial diamond mining operations in Namibia.
